bu.re_ to release 'seasons in migration' August 21st
by Scott Osgood

Announcing seasons in migration from Los Angeles-born ambient producer and multi-instrumentalist bu.re_. Out digitally and on boutique cassette August 21st, today we share the first single, “ii - heat shimmer”.
""ii - heat shimmer" was the first song I wrote on seasons in migration, " shares bu.re_. "It grew out of a sample that I recorded and mangled, which ended up sounding like churning, hot wind. I wanted to keep a balance of that hot energy with moments of dissipation, which I envisioned while tracking the saxophone. There's a push and pull of intensity and lull."
Diaphanous, atmospheric, and soothing, seasons in migration blends tranquil synth pads, subtle field recordings, and electric piano with soaring flute and saxophone lines. The foundation of seasons is built on a 12-chord progression divided into 4 groups of chords— each group pertaining to a respective calendrical phase. “Historically, seasons have provided us with a sense of the movement of time, with birth and death. beginning cycles that help us thrive; ending cycles that cause us suffering,” says bu.re_, “this album serves as a reminder of that movement.”
Fleeting and evanescent, seasons in migration is a shimmering soundscape that evaporates just as you settle into it.
