
AKP Recordings - in collaboration with CyKiK, dublab, and Late Breakfast - present Arthur King: Unknown Movie Night on Thursday, February 26th at 2220 Arts + Archives.
Founded by experimental musical ensemble Arthur King, Unknown Movie Night is a recurring live score event where the selected film is unknown to both audience and band until it begins. Hand-picked film selectors and a rotating cast of artists join Arthur King in making each UMN unique. The evening’s score will be recorded and duplicated to cassette at the conclusion of the screening.

dublab's T-Kay will bookend the quadraphonic performance with DJ sets, this event is free to the public, ages 21 and up.

Hiro Murai is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker and director behind some of today’s most innovative and culturally renowned projects, who will next serve as Director and Executive Producer for the upcoming Apple horror comedy series "Widow’s Bay," starring Matthew Rhys. Most recently, Murai served as Executive Producer and Director of the Emmy-nominated series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”. Murai also served as Executive Producer and Director of the Emmy award-winning FX series “Atlanta," as well as Executive Producer on the Emmy-winning series “The Bear” (FX) for Hulu, and as Executive Producer and Director on the Emmy-nominated "Station Eleven". In 2018, Murai directed the culturally groundbreaking music video for Childish Gambino’s worldwide hit “This Is America,” garnering him the “Best Directing” MTV Video Music Award. Murai was born in Tokyo and is currently based out of Los Angeles.
