Thank you to everyone who came out to Unknown Movie Night on May 24th.
It was a magical evening that would not have been possible without the support of The River LA, dublab, Echo Park Chamber of Commerce, and the LA Department of Cultural Affairs.
Alejandro Cohen curated the evening’s screening, selecting Michaël Dudok de Wit’s The Red Turtle. A huge round of applause to the musicians - Carla Azar, David Ralicke, M.A. Tiesenga, Peter Walker, and Senon Williams - who brought the film to life.
Kamran V duplicated the live score to cassettes, recorded by Jen Krause and Andy Petr, and the cassettes were available for attendees to take home along with posters designed by Sean Conrad.
The screening was bookended by back to back ethereal dj sets from Ki Oni and Luke Elliott.
