Arthur King Release Ned's Mystery Machine Vol. 2
by Scott Osgood

Ned’s Mystery Machine Vol. 2, a spirited new age trip spun from the ether onto the Los Angeles airwaves, is out now digitally and on Quad-encoded cassette. Building on the initial collaborative work from the duo's first meeting, Arthur King let the spirit of sound claim them once again in a fruitful paradox of continuity and invention.
Meditative, yet shadowed by technology, the work draws tension from its acoustic/electric dichotomy: warm harp, guitar, melodica, and upright piano contrast with crisp, sinewy percussive hits from a Moog DFAM synth and Roland CR-5000 drum machine.
Textural, rhythmic, and spacious - with digital hiccups, echoes of decay, sailing strings and gently throbbing rhythms - Ned’s Mystery Machine Vol. 2 is heart-opening music—a spacious, ethereal exploration of the creative shorthand between two longtime collaborators.
