UMN (Five Summer Stories) and UMN (March of the Penguins) from Los Angeles-based Arthur King are out today via immersive digital and quadraphonic cassette.

UMN (Five Summer Stories) is Arthur King's improvised composition and performance inspired by Jim Freeman and Greg MacGillivray’s “Five Summer Stories,” recorded live at The River LA.

For this performance Arthur King was Mark Kimbrell, David Ralicke, Chuck Soo-Hoo, Joel Virgel, and Peter Walker. The album was recorded by Andy Petr + Chad Carlisle, produced & mixed by Peter Walker + KamranV, and mastered by KamranV. The film was selected by Liz Garo.

 


UMN (March of the Penguins) is Arthur King’s impromptu composition and performance inspired by Luc Jacquet’s 2005 film “March Of The Penguins” recorded Live at AKP Recordings. 

For this performance Arthur King was David Ralicke, Koool G Murder, Laura Escudé, Mia Doi Todd, and Peter Walker. The album was recorded by Andy Petr & Jennifer Kraus, produced & mixed by Peter Walker + KamranV, and mastered by KamranV. The film was selected by. The film was selected by Sam Johnson.

 

Further engaging the concepts of adaptation and musical connectivity –– and adventurous experimentation –– these releases are encoded using the dublab Quadraphonic Universally Accessible Resource Kit (QUARK), enabling seamless quadraphonic or binaural listening via standard 2-channel playback, immersive hi-fi receivers, or computer.

These albums are quad immersive via all formats: digital download, streaming (Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, etc), radio broadcast, cassette tape and high-resolution Dolby Atmos (Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon HD).
